Journal - Where are you right now on your "Who Do You Think You Are" project? What did you do over the break for the project? Did you interview anyone? Use the checklist below to figure out what you have finished, what you are still working on and what you still have to do.

I have no idea what we are doing. i can successfully say that i have not completed two interviews. I cannot add to my family echo. I did absolutely nothing for this project over thanksgiving break. I have not started nor finished anything on this project. i have everything to do.

Journal - Tell me about your Homecoming weekend (whether you went to the activities or not!). Tell me about what you did over the weekend.


This weekend I went to homecoming. Before homecoming I had a cross country meet out at Ray Pec. So I was up by 5 am on Saturday. After the meet which ended at one pm. As soon as i got out of the car to go to soccer i cut my leg on the door and i got a couple stitches and so that looked lovely it looked  lovely with  my homecoming  dress  I went to my soccer game at 3 and I got kicked in the head and passed out in goal so now I have a concussion and i`m  out for the rest of the season  Then i got ready in about 20 minutes and met my friends to take pictures. Then we went to dinner and finally wrapped the night up with homecoming. We left the dance early and  I blacked out in the car. On Sunday I slept til ten and had yet another soccer game in that game I twisted my ankle so this weekend was really interesting.

Infographics are informational flyers that display a media of cartoons and facts and statistics to the viewer. that's all I know about them. their purpose is to display information in a creative way.

What are you weekend plans?

My weekend plans are that I have a soccer game on Saturday morning at 8:35 am so that will be fun. After the game late Saturday I will go volunteer at Matthews Ministry at CORE. Matthews ministry is a volunteer run Saturday night even held once a month for special needs children and adults in the Johnson County area. It gives their parents or caretakers a night to go out.

Journal - Most students view siting work as 'a pain in the butt'. How do you feel about it? Is it necessary? When is it appropriate to cite work? What's the importance of it?

I do not enjoy citing my sources. I believe it is necessary to cite sources to give credit to the author. It is appropriate to cite work when you are doing a informational paper on global issues oh wait I am doing a paper on global issues so I should cite sources. It is important not to plagiarize an authors work.

My favorite book is The Outsiders. I really liked this book because it was its setting was in the 1950`s. I really enjoyed reading about it because it was full of action and it was written in almost in a slang so i could tell apart the characters.

Journal - Do you enjoy writing? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why is writing an essential skill in life? How will you use this skill in the future?

I am not a fan of writing but I do not completely hate  it. I enjoy your average three trait structured paragraph essays. Writing is very essential in life because it is very professional to be able to write formal emails and in general papers. I will use this skill in life because in order to succeed in the business world one must know how to write emails, papers and documents.

 What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?

I believe that by outlining my paper it gives me a better idea of what is important and if i`m doing a three prong essay i get to address each individual subject one by one. I would rather outline on paper because i remember what to say and include when the text is in my own hand writing. I only know how to organize on the computer and by using paper.

 Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?

This weekend I had a soccer game this weekend. On Sunday at like nine o'clock I had a game on the OP fields. All of the other games had finished and the complex was dark except for the biggest field, the one we were playing on. The first half i played forward and my team did well. At the start of the second half my team was kind of tired so we lagged along the other team had a couple shots on goal, where i was playing but in the end the score was 0-0.

Journal - Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?

i look up to my uncle, Father Michael judge. Even though i only knew him for a short time he taught me a couple of things he taught me... to surround myself with good people, and to savor every moment with family in this case it became especially true because he died on 9/11.He guided me to be a better person and to look beyond someones appearance and listen to their opinions.

Good email etiquette is you say dear so and so, and then start your letter. Some other ways to have good etiquette is to not use slang. When you are signing off you can use sincerely your name here. Wow this journal is really short i  have no idea how to make this really short journal longer.

- If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?

if I were to solve any one problem in the world it would be... to free the world of hunger. By freeing the world of  this problem the worlds productivity would go up. I chose this problem to be fixed because tons of millions of people are starving everyday. When the world is no longer hungry anymore third world countries would achieve more and they would not be behind in a social stance and by a economic stance the worlds market would reach a all time high and the U.S. would not have to spend money on giving out free lunches to underprivileged youth thus this would save the u.S. millions of dollars a year.

 On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?

A public service announcement is a topic that a non profit organization can do a commercial or create a ad that shows awareness towards that cause. Some examples of PSA`s  are texting and driving, drinking, cyber bullying and more. the purpose of these ads is to raise awareness. If I were to create a PSA I would chose texting and driving. I chose this topic because I see more and more people texting on the road.

Some extracurricular activities that  I do are soccer, cross country, debate, and forensics. I spend most of my free time volunteering at Mathews Ministry. Some of my favorite things are Mean Girls, and Bench Warmers. My favorite television show is Pretty Little Liars and/ or Modern Family. My favorite magazine is Seventeen magazine. My favorite sport is by far is soccer. My favorite color is a tie between pink and green.

Journal - What are some qualities of a good presentation? How can you make a boring presentation interesting? Explain.

Some great qualities to have while presenting are speaking loud. By speaking loud you can interact with the audience and keep them entertained. A way to make a presentation interesting is by having pictures they keep their attention focused towards the front. You can also add effects to your presentation to add a extra wow factor. Those are a few ways to make a presentation great!

Journal - What is the importance of online safety and protecting your information? What do you do to protect yourself online? Share an experience you or someone you know has had with online safety.

It is important to keep your information safe because if you expose too much information out there on any site because there are weirdos out there. I protect myself by having all of my accounts,  Instagram, Facebook and Vine on private so that I can only accept the people I know that can see my account. If your information is out in the open it is free game for some creeps out there to defile.

I believe that if there is a picture on the internet you should not be able to use them without giving a source. If you were to use a photo on the internet I believe it is stealing and that if you do not give the author or photographer credit you are plagiarizing their work. If you were going to post a photo i think you should have to ask for permission or site your source.

Journal - Tell me what you know about Web 2.0. List example Web 2.0 sites. Are you on any sites that let you “post” information? What are those sites? How often do you use them? What do you post on them?

Web 2.0 is any site where you can log in and post information. I am on a few sites that let me post information the most popular ones I use are Vine, Instagram and Facebook. Some examples of Web 2.0 are Youtube, Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, foursquare, Pinterest, Vine ect. I use these sites atleast once a day and refresh the site a few times here and there. On Instagram I post soccer pics and random shoes. My most favorite site would be Vine I use it the most I post six second videos about once a week.

Journal - After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use." IWhat I took away from Ashton Kutchers acceptance speech is that every oppertunity is work. I learned that you are never better than your job and that each job is a stepping stone to a greater job that you have worked to achieve. By seizing each job you overcome a challenge and are greated by another one. You can never get far by starting there in the first place you have to work up to getting there and finally you have a great oppertunity.He also said something about being sexy and by being smart, generous and kind you are sexy and anything else is not. This quote means to me that you can be a inovator and make the wolrd diffrernt. By different i mean change the world for the better because everyone else is just like you and it does not take a greater or higher powered person to change the world. It means that I can ifleunce the world by not having a bad idea and always starting the day with a positive attitude. On the last part of the quote it talks about being a inovator by being a inovator i could help people out and that could potentilly make a difference in the world.
